Foundation donates church building to Awa Iman Community, A’Ibom – The Sun Nigeria
The Ini Ememobong Foundation has donated a new church building to the Awa Iman community in Onna Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom, where Governor Udom Emmanuel is from.
Ini Ememobong, an ancestor of the Foundation and commissioner of information and strategy, on Sunday handed over the worship building constructed by the Foundation to the Church of Christ at Awa Iman in Onna LGA.
He said the building project was undertaken to provide a suitable place for Christians to gather to worship God.
The commissioner also called on the natives of Akwa Ibom to intensify prayers for Emmanuel, especially as his administration begins the countdown to May 29, 2023.
Ememobong added that the project was an altar where supplications and thanksgiving would also be offered to God.
He thanked God for his benevolence on the life of the governor, and many other faithful Christians who had made sacrifices by supporting Emmanuel in their prayers.
“As a ‘son’ who benefited from the paternal disposition of the governor, there was no better footprint to honor his ‘father’ than to donate the temple of the Lord in his hometown, Awa Iman,” said he declared.
He said that more importantly, inaugurating the building one day on Emmanuel’s birthday on Monday, July 11.
The foundation’s chancellor, Mr. Bassey Esan, said the building’s features and amenities included a minister’s office, a sacristy, new chairs and a brand new 5kva generator, which would supply electricity for church meetings.
Esan described the building as a great place for worshippers, adding that the charitable foundation will continue to identify and execute humanitarian projects to benefit society.
In his remarks, the project’s architect and designer, Iniobong Abidiak, said the project has been designed to meet contemporary construction and interior design standards.
He said that although the six-week run period was short and therefore difficult, he was grateful for the opportunity the foundation had given him to contribute to the growth and development of the church.
The pastor in charge, Mr. Ayan Umana, expressed his gratitude to the commissioner for his many supports towards the church and society, especially the needy.
A member of the church, Mr. Mfon Godwin, expressed his joy for the building and said that it would be more auspicious for all members to gather together and hold church services without a hitch to the glory of God.
The highlight of the event was prayers for Governor Emmanuel as he celebrates his birthday on July 11.
The leadership of the Church of Christ also presented awards to Ememobong, in recognition of his commitment and contributions to the growth of the Church and society. (NOPE)
